Valeggio sul Mincio Misses Out on 2028 Capital of Culture Finalists

Valeggio sul Mincio’s bid for the 2028 Italian Capital of Culture title did not make the final shortlist, as announced by the Ministry of Culture. The city’s application process, which involved local institutions, associations, citizens, youth, and economic operators, took place from summer 2022 through 2023 in collaboration with Verona, Mantova, and surrounding areas.

The mayor, Alessandro Gardoni, highlighted the community’s involvement and thanked the Ministry and project director Daniela Cavallo. The municipality plans to continue developing initiatives and relationships established during the application process.
