Social Volunteering Groups in Lower Garda Veronese Form New Collaboration

A map of social volunteering groups in lower Garda Veronese did not exist. Nor was there a widespread mutual awareness of activities among associations, in a territory that is largely unaware of social issues and the realities that have been working for many years to meet social needs.

These were the motivations that prompted don Bruno from the association “La Nostra Casa”, which has been serving people with disabilities for twenty years, to act last January. Eager to meet social workers from the towns of Lazise, Castelnuovo, and Peschiera, and to initiate a dialogue with them during the year dedicated by the UN to international volunteering, the priest launched the provocative proposal to start a common journey.

The response of the groups and the creation of a team

With an unexpected response: fifteen differently engaged groups in the territory that decided to form a working group.
