Rassegna Antiquaria Exceeds Visitor Expectations at Montichiari Fair

“Rassegna Antiquaria” by Staff Service, open Saturday at the Centro Fiera di Montichiari, has reached its fourth day of operation with an excellent outcome. “During the first weekend we have already surpassed the number of visitors and the level of interest compared to last year — reveals Roberto Barucco, press officer of Staff Service — demonstrating the quality of this event and the interest it sparks among a broad segment of the population, not only from Brescia. All of this happening during a period of crisis, even in this sector, caused by well-known international events.

Participants and Exhibits

There are about ninety exhibitors present, coming from all over Italy, offering the public a wide range of interesting proposals—from furnishings to prints, paintings, silverware, Rugs, tapestries, textiles, jewelry, watches, frames, ceramics, marbles, bronzes, crystals, glassware, archaeology—all carefully and competently selected by qualified antique dealers.

At the ribbon-cutting on Saturday, there were the provincial assessor Gianpaolo Mantelli, the mayor of Montichiari Gianantonio Rosa, the director of Centro Fiera Ezio Zorzi, Carlo Miotto, administrative director of Staff Service, and Dr. Laura Mazzoli, who curated the introduction to the exhibition catalog.

Events and Exhibitions

“We could not miss as a Province at this event — said Mantelli — to once again pay homage to this example where history and culture intertwine like in an artistic painting.” Laura Mazzoli then presented the figure of the artist Cesare Monti, whose exhibition represents the most significant collateral event of the fair.

In the catalog, it states that this is “an exhibition curated by the Galleria Studiolo Novecento where visitors can see the excellence of the Brescia-born master’s production, the sweetness of his paintings, the sometimes vigorous and contrasting strokes. Cesare Monti (1891-1959) is undoubtedly an artist outside the norms and trends, tied to the great figurative tradition, mediated by the French Impressionist taste.”
