Garda Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They posing as carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the Arma.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Warning about scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the true carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear without a trace.
