Garda Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pretend to be carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police forces.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines with no connection to law enforcement agencies.

So be vigilant and immediately notify the real carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after getting the money, disappear without a trace.
