Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, on different occasions, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the urban police.

How to recognize fraud and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, remain vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who, after obtaining the money, disappear.
