Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
