Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance, police, fire brigades, or municipal guards.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those with no connection to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
