They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines affiliated with the force.

They are not actual military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, firefighters, or local municipal guards.
