Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Con Men and Fraud Alerts

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
