Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Publications to Businesses

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda by phone, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they are after money, no longer shows themselves.
