Garda Region Scammers Impersonate Authorities to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotels, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to the arm magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

Recognizing the scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
