Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area Scam Alerts

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines from the force.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or to publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
