Garda Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the veteran’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Identifying scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who, if they have money, do not show themselves again.
