Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri totarget Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions by phone, proposing subscriptions to police-related magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Comune‘s fire department.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
