Garda Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or to those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, no longer show themselves.
