Scammers Pretending as Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be careful and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

would take money and then disappear.
