Scammers Pretending to Be Police Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to military magazines of the army.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or Municipal Police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those having nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
