Underground River Study in Gargnano Sparks Project Discussion at Monte Denervo
A research project on underground rivers and springs in the Monte Denervo area will be discussed at a public meeting in Gargnano on February 6. Organized by A.GA.R.T.I.S., the event will present preliminary findings from investigations initiated in 2022, including water tracing activities and mapping of subterranean pathways.
Supported by local municipalities and involving organizations such as Cai Salò, Acque Bresciane, and the Lombard Speleological Federation, the project covers multiple mountains in the region. Its goal is to develop a hydrogeological assessment of local aquifers, with recent focus on Gargnano’s Briano area where a potential swallow hole has been identified. The team comprises about ten members and plans to publish a comprehensive monograph.
