Scammers Impersonate Police in Garda Area to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or even the Municipality police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

having money, no longer make their presence known.
