Garda Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri Offering Fake Military Magazines

They pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines of the army.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
