Enhancing School Security in Brescia: Microcrime Trends and Surveillance Strategies

Brescia Prefect Andrea Polichetti chaired a provincial public safety committee meeting on February 5, 2026, following directives from the Interior and Education Ministries to address school-related illegal activities. The meeting focused on school safety, with particular attention to microcriminality and preventative measures such as surveillance systems.

Participants included local law enforcement, provincial and municipal officials, the territorial Education Office, ATS Brescia and Montagna, and ASST. No severe incidents requiring widespread access controls were reported; instead, a detailed analysis of minor episodes will inform targeted working groups involving school leaders and student representatives. Ongoing initiatives by ATS and ASST addressed 187 issues in 2025, with plans to enhance external surveillance and conduct technical meetings to calibrate future interventions.
