Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda to Trick Hoteliers and Shopkeepers

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to the arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
