Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Trick Local Businesses in Garda Region

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arma magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately alert the Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
