Garda Region Scam Alert: Impersonators Claiming Police to Sell Magazines

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda region, suggesting subscriptions to magazines affiliated with the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality security services.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be careful and immediately alert the genuine Carabinieri—just dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
