Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, no longer makes themselves visible.
