Scammers Pretending to Be Carabinieri Target Garda Authorities

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the authorities.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the true Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you have the suspicion that you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer appear.
