Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to financial authorities, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
