Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering False Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or titles unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, no longer make themselves visible.
