Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
