Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who periodically claim to be from finance, police, fire brigade, or the municipal firefighters.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement authorities.
