Fraudulent Calls Posing as Carabinieri Target Garda Businesses

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda via phone, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, at different times, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, no longer make an appearance.
