Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Businesses

They masquerade as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and are no longer visible.
