Authorities Uncover Dumped and Crushed Asbestos Waste in Bassa Bresciana and Alta Valtrompia

Authorities have seized asbestos-contaminated waste linked to an industrial demolition site in the Bassa Bresciana area, following investigations by Garda financial police and Carabinieri Forestal. The operation involved searches at construction sites, woodland areas, and a concrete plant where contaminated material may have entered the production cycle.

The probe accuses a Valtriumpline company of unauthorized treatment and mechanical crushing of thousands of cubic meters of asbestos-containing material, illegal transportation, and concealment or burial at multiple sites. An estimated economic benefit of around €250,000 has been identified for the company. ARPA Lombardia has conducted sampling, and suspects are presumed innocent pending further legal proceedings.
