Lazise Kicks Off 41st Libera Contrà del Marciapiè Carnival Celebration

The 41st edition of Lazise’s traditional Carnevale della “Libera Contrà del Marciapìe” will take place on February 24-25, celebrating the neighborhood’s history through masked processions and symbolic figures like Capo Valar, Quel da Re, and El Cagnol. The event includes the election of local “mayors” and historical reenactments related to fishing and community life, with traditional food offerings.

Activities are scheduled over two days, featuring chioschi opening at 11:00 AM, elections at 13:00, and entertainment until 18:00 on Saturday. On Sunday, chioschi reopen at 11:00, with voting results announced after lunch, a parade at 14:30, and the mayor’s speech at 16:00, concluding at 18:00.
