Desenzano Clarifies Temporary Crossover on Via Custoza Amid Viaduct Repairs
Desenzano’s municipality clarifies that the temporary bike lane on Via Custoza, connected to the Garda Cycle Route, is a provisional measure due to ongoing structural work on the viaduct, expected to last around two more years. The current setup is not permanent; once the viaduct repairs are completed, the bike path will be relocated to Via Bezzecca, and Via Custoza will revert to vehicle use, according to Mayor Guido Malinverno.
Public Works Councilor Giovanni Maiolo explained that after the viaduct work, the current bike lane will be removed, and the area will feature parking stalls on the left side from Via Custoza to Via Marconi, along with a sidewalk on the right. The temporary cycle track will be dismantled at the end of the project.
