Sirmione Unveils 2026 Plan with 31 Summer Pedestrian Days
Sirmione has unveiled its “Sirmione 2026” operational plan to manage tourist flows in the historic center, marking the first step toward the broader “Sirmione 2030” strategy aimed at enhancing livability and safety. The plan emphasizes data-driven visitor management, including the use of CARS data to map peak hours and prevent overcrowding during critical periods.
Key measures include 31 days of pedestrianization during high season weekends and holidays, improved parking facilities, and enhanced territorial oversight with additional ambulances, increased street patrols, and coordinated efforts with Navigarda for better waterway flow. Authorities stress that these initiatives aim to responsibly govern tourism, ensuring safety and quality of experience for residents, workers, and visitors alike.
