Scenic Gorge Road Reopens Between Tremosine and Tignale After Safety Upgrades

The SP 38 Tremosine-Tignale, known as the Strada della Forra, will reopen on March 13 at 4:30 PM after safety work was completed on schedule. The road had been closed since February 2 for the second phase of stabilization following the December 2023 landslide.

The intervention included reinforcing the Camino tunnel with new lining and installing anchoring tiebacks on the northern slope, along with safety nets and barriers. The province stated that the closure was necessary to ensure safety and that further closures are planned for the fall for additional reinforcement work.
