Bardolino Launches Coastal Reeds Protection Initiative

Bardolino has initiated a conservation project focused on protecting and maintaining its reed beds, including habitat regeneration and monitoring scheduled for 2026. The local Ecology Department has contracted a specialized company to manage shoreline maintenance and assess ecological changes in the area.

Activities, conducted along the municipal shoreline and planned annually, involve targeted cutting to oxygenate plants and promote spring reed germination. Officials, including Mayor Daniele Bertasi and Ecology Councilor Simone Corradini, emphasized the project’s goal to support local flora and fauna, with ongoing checks on reed health and removal of accumulated plant material.
