Fraglia Vela Riva Dominates Italy Cup ILCA in Crotone with Ghirotti and Scialpi

Lorenzo Ghirotti of Fraglia Vela Riva (FVR) won the ILCA 6 Gold Fleet at the Italy Cup ILCA in Crotone, dominating eight races and finishing ahead of Matteo Silvestro and Giovanni Bedoni. The event, held over the weekend and organized by Club Velico Crotone, saw nearly 140 participants in ILCA 6, with favorable weather allowing the recovery of postponed races.

In the ILCA 4 category, FVR’s Leandro Scialpi finished second behind Alessio Lucantoni, with several other FVR sailors placing well, including Lauri Sepponen (3rd) and Marco Aloisi (4th). The ILCA 7 was won by Giulio Genna, while Leonardo Malfer from FVR finished seventh. Ghirotti described the regatta as physically and mentally demanding, with the European Senior ILCA 6 Championship in Croatia in May as his upcoming goal.
