Region Allocates Funds to Enhance Lake Safety and Surveillance

The regional government has approved a resolution to enhance lake safety, allocating funds to lake basin authorities and coastal municipalities for 2026. The initiative, proposed by Transport and Sustainable Mobility Minister Franco Lucente, aims to support emergency response, rescue, and surveillance activities on navigable waters, ensuring coordinated efforts among involved agencies.

Funding amounts vary by lake basin, with €80,000 allocated to Lake Lario, €47,000 to Garda and Idro, €40,000 each for Maggiore and Iseo, and €35,000 for Ceresio. The funds will be used in collaboration with provincial police, coast guard, finance police, and other institutional partners.
