Maiolo Responds to Opposition Critics After Desenzano Oversight Committee

Desenzano’s Public Works Commissioner Giovanni Maiolo has responded to recent criticisms from minority groups following the March 24 Vigilance and Control Committee meeting. He refutes allegations, claiming the session was misused for political purposes, particularly targeting Committee President Terzi and Councillor Papa, whom he accuses of favoring media over official council responses.

Maiolo highlighted ongoing investments and projects addressing safety issues inherited from previous administrations, including seismic upgrades, safety improvements across schools, new nursery and middle school constructions, and urban redevelopment along the lakeshore. He also referenced ongoing maintenance work, upgrades to sports facilities, and the initiation of a new municipal swimming pool project, citing contractual constraints as reasons for delays.
