Mart Rovereto Show Explores Anselmo Bucci’s Role in Shaping 20th Century Art Across Italy and Europe

An exhibition dedicated to Anselmo Bucci, titled “The 20th Century in Italy and Europe,” is currently on display at the Mart in Rovereto. Featuring over 150 works—including paintings, engravings, drawings, and photographs—the show explores Bucci’s career, life, and cultural connections, with pieces from major collections such as the Quadreria Cesarini and the Museo del Novecento in Milan.

The exhibit, curated by Avanzi and Baroni, is organized into ten sections covering Bucci’s formative years in Marche, his Paris and Milan periods, and his work as an engraver and photographer. It also highlights recurring themes like portraits, landscapes, and animals, and includes restored works like “I Maschi” with preparatory studies. A catalog accompanies the exhibition, and it is open to visitors with tickets costing €15 (€10 reduced), free for visitors under 14 and those with disabilities.
