Lombardy Regional Councilwoman Calls for Hearing on Garda Bike Path Development

Lombardy Regional Councilor Paola Pollini (M5S) has requested a new hearing for the Coordination of Committees and Associations advocating for the Garda Cycle Path, citing concerns over hydrogeological risks, landscape impact, and nearly quadrupled costs. The request aims for examination by the Regional Land Use Committee and follows a previous unresolved appeal from October 2024.

Pollini highlighted unstable slopes along some sections of the route and noted that the Lombardy Region is considering an intermodal solution involving boat connections in the most hazardous areas. The issues have also been acknowledged at the national government and Transport Ministry levels.
