Church Federation Demonstrates in Calcinato Against Chiese River Pollution

A protest organized by the Federation of Churches is scheduled for April 12, 2026, in Calcinato to oppose the proposed discharge of wastewater from Lake Garda into the Chiese River and the Esenta treatment plant. The demonstration aims to mobilize citizens, associations, and 31 municipalities within the Chiese water body, emphasizing that the event is non-partisan and will not feature political symbols.

The march will cover approximately 3.5 kilometers through Calcinato’s center, starting at 2:00 PM from Piazza del Municipio and concluding around 3:30 PM with speeches from federation representatives and local mayors. The event is expected to end by 5:00 PM.
