Parkinson’s Awareness Gains Momentum at Portese Sailing Club’s Global Event

On April 11, 2026, the Neurology Department of ASST del Garda, in collaboration with Hyak APS, will host ParkinsOnLake at the Circolo Velico di Portese in San Felice del Benaco to mark World Parkinson’s Day. The event offers a combination of rehabilitation, social activities, and vela-terapia for patients and caregivers, featuring sailing trips with medical support and land-based activities along Lake Garda.

The program emphasizes the benefits of sailing movements in stimulating brain plasticity and improving motor symptoms such as rigidity and bradykinesia. Participants will also engage in assisted activities and walks along the lakefront, concluding with an informal discussion with Dr. Massimo Biacca and specialists. The event is supported by local municipalities and the LIMPE Foundation for Parkinson’s.
