Enrico Morina Clinches ILCA 4 Youth European Championship Title in Spain
Enrico Morina won the ILCA 4 Youth European Championship in Spain, competing against nearly 250 sailors. After a challenging start with three races in double digits, Morina recovered from a third-day deficit to secure victory in the final series of six races, surpassing Greek sailor Stefanos Samaras and Swiss competitor Leo Gosling.
Morina credited his resilience and trust in his training, supported by coach Mauro Berteotti and his parents. The Italian team also included Leandro Scialpi (23rd), Villiam Osipovs (93rd), and Marco Aloisi (128th). In the female category, Sofia Berteotti finished 12th, and Mia Paoletti placed 71st (17th U16). Berteotti highlighted logistical challenges, including two canceled flights and racing in winds over 25 knots, noting Morina’s significant improvement during the final races.
