16-Year-Old Dies During Coast Guard Search at Desenzanino
A 16-year-old jumped from a pedal boat into the waters off Desenzanino Beach this afternoon and did not resurface. The Coast Guard deployed two vessels to search the area; rescuers located the youth on the seabed, and a friend helped bring him to the surface. He was brought to Desenzano port, where 118 medics were waiting, and resuscitation continued as he was airlifted in Code Red to Spedali Civili in Brescia.
Despite the efforts, the boy was pronounced dead. Investigations by the Coast Guard, the State Police, and the Carabinieri are underway to establish the precise sequence of events.
