Wolf Sighted on Brescia’s Southern Beltway as Searches Continue at San Giovanni IRCCS Park

A wolf sighting on the southern beltway near Exit 6 Quinzano Fornaci prompted intervention by the Brescia Provincial Police’s Nucleo Ittico Venatorio (Wildlife and Fisheries Unit); a second sighting yesterday around 6:00 a.m. drew patrols to the IRCSS San Giovanni di Dio Fatebenefratelli park on Via Pilastroni, but the animal had already left when officers arrived, and searches are ongoing.

The operations, conducted with ATS Brescia and Regione Lombardia for the activation of the prescribed procedures, included area checks, site security, and, if necessary, capture and relocation to a more suitable habitat. So far, checks have ruled out the presence of the wolf at the checked locations; authorities say it may have moved along the route. Residents are urged to report new sightings to the Provincial Police operations center and to avoid approaching or attempting capture.
