Desenzano Castle Hosts Giorgio de Chirico Exhibition, May 17–October 4, 2026
Giorgio de Chirico. A Timeless World, a new exhibition at Castello di Desenzano, will run May 17–October 4, 2026. Curated by Giordano Bruno Guerri and organized by Il Cigno Arte with the Comune’s Ufficio Cultura, the show explores the “Return to Order” theme by juxtaposing Chirico’s work with contemporaries and successors, including Alberto Savinio, Filippo de Pisis, Mario Sironi and Achille Funi.
The display features about twenty works by de Chirico from museums and private collections, along with sketches for La figlia di Iorio kept at the Vittoriale and original photographic portraits. Promoted by the Comune’s Cultural Department with coordination by Marilena Mura, the inauguration is Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 11:30 a.m., with public opening beginning at 2:00 p.m. Opening hours are Tue–Thu 9:30–12:30 and Fri–Sun (and holidays) 9:30–18:30 (closed Mondays). Tickets cost €15 full, €7 reduced; entry is free for residents, children up to 10, and other eligible categories.
